Budding artists are encouraged to enter their work into the competition, which will be judged before the Mural Festival, with winners announced at the event.
All you need to get involved is a small square canvas sold for $5 from Rochester Newsagency and use any art style to convey the theme: “Rochester: past, present or future”.
There are primary, secondary and open categories, with a $50 prize for the winners.
Artworks must be returned to the newsagency by Monday, February 17.
The Mural Festival’s Meet the Artists night is coming up, where people will have the chance to hear from the eight artists who will be painting during the festival.
The artists will unveil a miniature of their murals and discuss their ideas around this year’s theme.
Tickets are available at the newsagency for $25 and includes a two-course meal, major raffle draw and artwork auction.
The event will be at Rochester Lawn Tennis Club, on Friday, February 21, from 7 pm.
