NEW branding and more than $16 million in capital works spending by Campaspe Shire Council are the highlights for council's annual report.
The document which details council's performance for the 2018/19 financial year was endorsed at the most recent council meeting
Mayor Adrian Weston said the report benchmarks council’s performance against the council plan, strategic resource plan and budget, with this year being the second of reporting against the four-year council plan.
“The past 12 months have been busy and we have worked hard to consolidate our financial position and deliver projects for the benefit of the community,” Cr Weston said.
“The report details $16.3 million in capital project spending, including major projects completed to improve facilities for our community and visitors, such as Lake Rd rehabilitation in Kyabram, the Changing Places toilet facility in Echuca and hard tennis court and lighting in Rochester.
“Some of the highlights have included launching Campaspe’s new branding and logo, expanding online services through our website and many community achievements such as Australia Day awards and volunteer awards.”
The report gives a detailed overview of council’s finances and performance, both independently audited by the Victorian Auditor-General’s Office.
“We delivered a budget within the Victorian Government rate cap of 2.25 per cent and achieved an adjusted operating surplus of $173,000,” Cr Weston said.
The annual report is available on council’s website and a printed copy can be reviewed at customer service centres.
