Moama and Sutton's bakeries are just some of the local businesses selling delicious treats for RSPCA Cupcake Day.
For them, making the funds to fight against animal cruelty is a no-brainer.
"It's a great cause and if we can find any chance we get to give back, we'll take it," Moama Bakery operations manager Kane Morris said.
Moama Bakery will be cooking up more than 200 cupcakes to be sold today and over the weekend with $2 from each going to the RSPCA.
"We're going to be having cupcakes made into five different animals for everyone to try," he said.
Cupcake Day is officially celebrated on August 19, however, participants can host their own celebration any time.
Slices, quiches, cakes and biscuits will be welcomed in offices, schools and homes across the state as Victorians join the fight by hosting their own event or even indulging in a treat-filled month.
RSPCA Victoria hopes to raise $265,000 by the end of August to help care for the 20,000 animals that enter its shelters every year.
“This is definitely something we believe in and would love to do it for years to come," Kane said.
"We're really hoping it's a hit and we want as many people to come in, give our treats a try and give money to a worthy cause."
Sutton's Bakery is also eager to pitch in with funds raised from their cupcakes going to the Campaspe Animal Shelter.
"We'll be taking $1 from each cupcake and using the money to buy blankets or food to give to the shelter," Sutton's Bakery worker Jo Owen said.
