FOR the third straight year, Rochester Primary School has been crowned premiers of division two in the Campaspe District football carnival.

The team, consisting of Grades 4-6 students and involving one girl (Pepper Bannon), produced the perfect day to run out winners of the tournament.
The team started in fine fashion, keeping Moama Public scoreless on their way to a 42-point win, then beating 208’s second team by 43 points in another powerful display where they kept the opposition scoreless.
A third win against SGR by 36 points put the team on top of their pool and into the semi-finals.
In the semi-final, the team produced a terrific game to win by 46 points.
The forward line performed strong with Cale James and Jordy Rasmussen kicking two goals apiece, while Brock Keenan led the backline strongly.
The grand final saw Rochester face off against Lockington, with the first half producing a tight contest.
Jordy Rasmussen was the first to get on the scoreboard with a brilliant running goal, before Lockington struck back immediately.
With the scores locked and the first half nearing the end, Haydyn Wilkins marked strongly and kicked beautifully to put Rochy in front by a goal.
A terrific defensive play by Brock Keenan gave Lachie Joyce a chance from the boundary and he made no mistake.
Another great mark from Trey White and a perfect kick after the siren gave the team a three-goal lead at half-time.
Billy Ludbey started dominating the ruck and took marks all over the ground, finishing with a goal.
Rochy eventually ran out winners by 40 points in what was a complete team performance.
Best players for the day were the dominant midfield of Jordy Rasmussen, Trey White and Lachie Joyce, who won an incredible amount of the ball, tackled hard and hit the scoreboard in every game.
Brock Keenan, organised the backline and stopped countless attacks, Billy Ludbey took some great marks all over the ground and Cale James was dangerous on the wing.
