The school’s aim is to foster a safe and nurturing learning environment to develop students that are confident and emotionally resilient.
‘‘A major focus of the school is to provide children with strategies for learning how to learn and care for each other, and enable them to apply these skills to the ever-changing world around them,’’ Rochester Primary School’s Lindy Burke said.
‘‘Our students participate in many sporting opportunities throughout the year, with local carnivals, tournaments and various competitions against other schools.’’
Students are encouraged to take part in sports such as netball and football during lunchtimes three days a week, games in the playground and activities such as Lunchtime Coding Club and giant jenga.
A breakfast club operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays and all students are welcome to join in.
The school has a canteen, which is staffed by volunteers and provides the students with healthy food options.
Their specialist programs include Science/Technology, Indonesian [LOTE] and Art.
