It was a lovely day on the green last Tuesday as the women played the game of scrounge.
The winners included Lois Chugg with a mammoth tally of 82 points, which enabled her to win the dinner voucher.
Anne Lowrie finished on 55 points for a rink win, while Denise "Happy" Gilmore cleaned up the final rink with 44 points.
In the club competition, the women have arrived at the semi-final stage where Annie Haines will meet Leanne McInnes after defeating a gallant Margaret Davis in a seesawing battle. In the other semi-final Phyllis MacFarlane will play Annette Brereton.
In the mens’ section the President’s 21 Up trophy is nearing completition where Geoff Shawcross caused a minor boilover when he defeated Graham Turner to earn a quarter-final berth against Don Isgro.
Up top, Ray Hanson is to play Roley Head with the winner to meet John van den Bosch. There is a couple of games lagging in the bottom half of the draw (gone fishing).
On the tournament circuit there have been several members travelling.
The women have participated at Rich River, Rochester and City of Echuca while the men have enjoyed playing at Stanhope, City of Echuca and Tongala.
Last Wednesday, the club hosted the final round of the Sixty & Over season. Ninety-six bowlers were on the greens and the women were congratulated for the presentation of another round of excellent meals while the Lockington Lions Club were thanked for attending to the barbeque duties - all future bowlers? A composite rink skipped by Frank Chugg saluted for the fowl prizes.

The club will hold the annual presentation evening on Sunday May 5th starting at 6.30pm, names are required for catering.
Lockington Bowls Club is proud to be hosting the presentation night for the Campaspe Valley Bowls Division on Thursday May 2nd, commencing at 6.30pm at a cost of $25 per head.
This promises to be an end of season celebration for all trophy winners to be acknowledged.
The Friday evening barbeque and practice continues to be an attraction. The missing member in the lucky draw for the jackpot was our club Treasurer Alan Kauffman.
The Bendigo/Campaspe Regional teams performed well in the BowlsVic Region Sides Championship played at Traralgon on the weekend.
The overall result was four wins, two losses and a draw. The claim to fame was defeating the eventual State winners Metro West in the second round.
The ladies held their very popular five-a-side tournament last weekend, with 20 teams filling the greens.
Two teams finished the tournament with 13 wins from 16 games. The winners with 126 shots up were Rhonda Gallagher, Michelle Cunnington, Roma Opie, Kerryn Evans and Susan Howes.
Runnesr-up with 69 shots up were Ann Draffen, Jody Nevil, Andrea Tudorovic, Trish Dolan and Lou Mejean.
The best fours for the weekend were Rhonda Ballard, Marg Gruar, Marg Bath and Loris Bradley.
Best triples were Sandra Connelly, Marilyn Stephenson and Bev Trengove while the best pairs were Marilyn Stephenson and Melissa Roberts.
Bev Trengove was the best singles player from the weekend.
Many thanks to Jane, Jeanette and all the catering staff plus the men for marking singles games and the umpires for a great weekend.
Next weekend is a two-day Edinburg Shield event.
