Hoppers on hunt for more contributors

COLBINABBIN Football Club has welcomed its latest recruit for the 2019 season in midfielder Todd Bryant.

The 27-year-old is a former state league footballer with the Queensland AFL (QAFL).

He comes to Colbinabbin via Woodside in the North Gippsland Football League (NGFL).

Bryant has an impressive record, having grown up in Albury-Wodonga and captaining the Wodonga Raiders in the Ovens and Murray Football League (O&M) for four seasons.

Colbinabbin coach Julian Bull confirmed the club was excited to have Bryant on board.

“We’ve had our eyes on him for a few months,” he said.

“Todd knows some of the people in the area and is moving locally for work”.

Bryant arrives with an impressive list of accolades to his name, including the Rising Star of the Year in the O&M.

He has won four best and fairest medals across the O&M, QAFL and NGFL and one runners-up medal (NGFL).

Bryant served as both assistant coach and coach during his tenure at Woodside and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Colbo set-up.

“It’s great to have a player of Todd’s calibre on board,” Bull said.

“He’s a classy midfielder and has all the attributes we are looking for.”

■ COLBINABBIN senior netballers — the Lady Hoppers — are about to begin preseason training and are looking for more people to come on board for season 2019.

Prospective players, coaches, umpires, team managers, sponsors and volunteers are all welcome to express their interest and discuss opportunities to be involved.

Pre-season fitness training for senior netballers will be held on Mondays (February 11, 18 and 25) at 6pm at the Colbinabbin netball courts.

Match play and team selection dates are on Thursdays (March 7, 14 and 21) at 6.15pm.

The club is looking forward to a fun and successful season in 2019.
