Rochester golf

By Campaspe News

Bruce Bryant’s consistent winter golf game at Rochester has continued as he combined with Frank Severino at Rich River fourball last Thursday to win with a great score of 50 stableford points.

Rochester is well represented with an average of 12 members playing on a regular basis usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Wednesday nine hole golf has been a big hit this year with up to 20 players eager to see what captain Richard Feuk has organized for the days event.

Cards were drawn after the stableford competition last Wednesday, Alex McQuibban was lucky to draw Laurie Jackel and their combined score of 41 points was enough to hold out three other pairs all on 40 points, McQuibban (5) and Ken Lambert (8) were the nearest the pin winners.

The course committee has recently mowed the front nine, Graham Willis has also worked up the scrapes and with the recent rain and humid weather the summer couch is starting to shoot and is providing much needed cover after the very dry winter.

Wednesday, December 12 will be the last organized event for this year, captain Feuk is hoping to run a four ball multiplier if the numbers stack up and with various novelty prizes and a BBQ lunch to follow this should be great fun and a fitting tribute to end the 2018 nine hole season.Campaspe
