Twenty-two teams made their way to the greens to give it their all and take home the main prize.
‘‘Today has gone very well, it’s been lovely weather and everybody looks very happy,’’ Rochester Probus president Rose Kilpatrick said.
‘‘Some of the players have just been playing bowls for two days in other particular tournaments so there’s a few tired ones around,’’ she said.
‘‘I think on a day like today, we’re all winners and there are no losers.’’
The numbers may have been down from last year, but that didn’t mean the competition wasn’t tough.
The Kerang team, consisting of lead Ken Arbon, second Merv Tilley, third Alyne Fagg and skip Yvonne Summers took out the big prize, but only about a point ahead of the team in second place.
‘‘The greens were wonderful and the teams we played against were great fun. You all gave us a run for our money, but we had fun as we went,’’ Yvonne said.
The Probus put on a beautiful morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for all the players and helpers.
They also drew raffle prizes as well as selecting players at random to give prizes to.
‘‘The main aim of today was to get together and have fun, and I’m sure that we’ve all done that,’’ Rose said.
