Show organiser Scott Somerville said this year’s line-up is one of the best, and encouraged families to come along and enjoy the spectacle.
“We have free face painting, camel rides, Bunnings crafts and cartoon caricatures. There will also be a great jumping castle and free plaster painting,” he said.
‘‘It’s a great day out and we encourage people to come along and get involved.’’
This year, organisers are looking to increase their entries in their search for the Tiny Tots, Baby and Junior Show Girl competition categories, as well as in the Junior and Senior Rural Ambassador section.
There will also be judging and prizes for the region’s best horses, livestock, cooks, crafters and lego-makers, among others. The Great Northern Show boasts some of the biggest entrant numbers for the horse and cattle across the state. It is just the second year the show has run on one day instead of two, with the day kicking off from 8.30am. A full timetable is available at the Great Northern Show’s Facebook page.
Passes are available at the gate. A family pass is $25 (two adults and their children under 16), adults is $10 and children up to 15 years are $5. Children under five enter free.
