Sergeant Dale Simm and Leading Senior Constable Brenda Wallis said there had been instances where reports of incidents were coming in up to a week later and hindering investigations.
LSC Wallis said if residents require a response immediately, they should call triple zero rather than waiting for police to be present at the station line.
It comes after police were called to a burnt out vehicle in Lockington on January 10.
The white 2013 Toyota Corolla, registration 1AD1HH, was found burnt out and police are appealing for anyone with information to report it.
‘‘We’re asking anyone who may have seen the vehicle driving erratically beforehand to contact us with any information they have,’’ LSC Wallis said.
LSC Wallis also reminded drivers to adhere to the 40kmh rule when passing stationary emergency vehicles with flashing lights.
She said there has been an increasing amount of drivers who are disregarding the law, which incurs a $272.05 infringement or a maximum court penalty of $777.30.
Coffee with a cop will now be held on the first Thursday of every month, as opposed to every Thursday, at the Rochester Community House from 2pm-3pm.
Anyone is welcome to attend for a cuppa and a chat.
