Registrations are now open for the 2017 Dairy Research Foundation Symposium, which will look at ways to improve dairy farm income.
The symposium will be held from July 25 to 27 at Port Macquarie in NSW.
Dairy Research Foundation director Yani Garcia said the highlight of this year’s symposium, would be the visit to Hastings Park Dairy, owned by the Cleary family, from Wauchope, NSW.
‘‘Delegates always enjoy the mix of information sessions with the interactive format of the farm visit,’’ Professor Garcia said.
The symposium is also renown for presenting exciting international guest speakers and this year is no exception with José Santos from Florida University in the United States speaking about advances in management and breeding practices to achieve both highly productive and fertile dairy cows.
The program also includes a number of NSW farmers speaking about their experiences in improving income.
The Dairy Research Foundation Symposium program is:
■Day one (July 25): Industry Day with Dairy NSW, NSW Farmers and Dairy Connect at Rydges Hotel, 1 Hay St, Port Macquarie.
■Day two (July 26): Dairy Research Foundation Symposium Day at Rydges Hotel, 1 Hay St, Port Macquarie.
