Rochester Ambulance Auxiliary secretary Jade Harris presented the final cheques to paramedic students Mark Hocking and Kelsey Hageman.

TWO budding paramedic students have been given a $500 boost to their studies by the Rochester Ambulance Auxiliary.

The final sponsorship cheques were presented to Kelsey Hageman and Mark Hocking who are now completing their fourth and final year of their paramedic studies.

Rochester Ambulance Auxiliary member Janine Hocking said for each year of study, the two students have been given a scholarship cheque to help with the costs of their studies.

‘‘Kelsey Hageman is studying her degree at La Trobe University Bendigo and Mark Hocking is studying paramedicine and nursing at ACU in Ballarat,’’ she said.

‘‘Both students are very appreciative of the assistance they have been given by the local ambulance auxiliary.

‘‘And acknowledge the many hours the long-serving members contribute to fundraising for both themselves in this unique sponsorship and for items needed by the ambulance station which assist in the better care and facilities of the station and the wider community.

‘‘The Rochester Ambulance Auxiliary is a small group and would welcome additional membership.’’
