JAYDEN Wright is officially a gold medallist after blitzing the competition at the Special Olympics Australia National Games in Adelaide.
A lifelong love of sport led Jayden to the event, representing his state at tenpin bowling.
He was selected through his work with Special Olympics Australia’s Echuca Campaspe Club.
Jayden, who has been bowling for 17 years, said he brushed aside the nerves for the event with plenty of practice in the lead up.
“There was some tough competition but I was pumped and ready to get into it,” he said.
“It’s an unbelievable feeling and I’m very proud to say I’m a gold medallist.”
Having represented Victoria previously at golf, the Lockington local changed tack after the last Games.
He has been to Melbourne and also to Macau for previous Games with golf.
Jayden said he was now looking forward to seeing how far he could go with tenpin bowling.
