THE Runnymede Junior Football Club is steaming ahead thanks to a $500 grant from the Elmore Field Days.
The new under 10 team will combine the money with funding already received from the Bendigo Community Bank to buy jumpers, footballs and drink bottles.
Club secretary Jen Stewart said the club had gone through some recent changes and the players and coaches were excited about the new direction.
“We have a lot of junior players, so it’s great to have a team for them,” she said.
“We’re very lucky to get this funding and we can’t thank the Field Days and Bendigo Bank enough for their generosity.”
Elmore Field Days public relations officer John Griffin said it was a great feeling to help a local club source the equipment they need.
“We have given more than $3 million to the community since our inception. It’s very important to us to play a role in supporting the community,” he said.
The club is also looking for an under 10 umpire, anyone interested in taking up the position should contact Jen on 0408 146 863.
