SARAH Trewick was a little nervous when she began reciting In Flanders Fields at the Anzac Day dawn service in Melbourne.
The Rochester Secondary College year 11 student had the opportunity to be involved due to her involvement in the Premier’s Spirit of Anzac Prize.
The prize gives 22 students the opportunity to participate in an overseas study tour to sites where Australians have served in times of war and peacekeeping.
Sarah said she struggled to get the first few words of the famous poem out but once she got over the nerves, her practice kicked in.
“Anzac Day is all about remembering the people who made the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good,” she said.
“It was an amazing opportunity and something I hope I can do again.”
