CALLING all couples with kids — it’s date night time.
Whip on that suit that’s been gathering dust in the closet, whack on some lippy – but don’t bother booking a babysitter.
Thanks to Salvation Army Rochester, you can have a worry-free dream date night without the kids.
And without lightening your wallet too much.
For just $25 per family, the Salvos will look after (and feed) the kids in a separate room while you enjoy a delicious two-course meal and an opportunity to connect uninterrupted.
Lieutenant Ben Clapton said the idea came from his and wife Liesl’s personal experiences.
“Our family are all in Western Australia, so the opportunities to have a night out without the kids are rather limited,” he said.
“When you add up the cost of a babysitter and the date, the cost of it all can be prohibitive. It’s our hope that this will be a recurring event, with different activities happening after dinner.
“Numbers are limited, as we have strict ratios for our child to leader numbers to ensure that all children are safely looked after.” All volunteers interacting with the children have Working with Children checks, police checks and have undergone Child Safe training.
The night is on Friday, April 27 from 6.30pm at the Salvation Army Rochester Corps building.
