POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a suspicious car fire in Rochester on Friday.

An unregistered Holden sedan was deliberately set alight in the driveway of a Rankin St address at around 10.45pm causing $2,000 in damage.

The CFA were called but the fire had been extinguished by the time they arrived.

The Rochester police station was also targeted overnight Friday.

Offenders damaged the front glass panel of the door at the Moore St station.

Police believe the offences are related.

The fire is being treated as suspicious and any witnesses are asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800333000 or Echuca CIU on 54831500.

Holden stolen in Gillies St

A HOLDEN sedan was stolen from Gillies St, Rochester on the weekend.

The car, valued at $5,000, was taken between 9.45pm Saturday and 10pm Sunday.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800333000 or Echuca CIU on 54831500.
