ROCHESTER Pony Club was among the trophies at the recent Pony Club Victoria Team Championships in Bendigo.
Four teams competed at the two-day event across several disciplines including showing, dressage, show jumping and the stockman’s challenge
Rochester riders performed well, with the Rochy Rumours team winning the overall event out of 42 teams from across the state.
The team consisted of Jasmine O’Donoghue, Lucy Nelson, Georgie Acocks and Milla Stone.
The three other Rochy teams — the Rockers, Rollers and Rebels — were not to be outdone, with multiple individual placings.
Other local riders that competed were Sian Gurnett, Lily Reid, Hamish and Darcy Prime, Heath McWhirter, Cody Pike, Hope Wright, Bronte Kelly and Hamish Glass.
This year the club will be celebrating its 60th birthday and is holding a function in November to celebrate.
Established in 1958, the club is one of the oldest in Northern Victoria and a founding member of the Northern Zone.
The club is planning a celebration that will include riding demonstrations, a memorabilia display, presentations and a dinner.
The club is looking for any past members that would like to attend or contribute to the event.
The club will also be hosting its annual jackpot ride at the Moora State Forrest Reserve on May 26 and 27.
