Campaspe

Campaspe Golf Club’s Roy Lewis was last week’s Monday Niner winner.

The days have been much more conducive to a good game in Rochester, as Lewis found out - he hit a 56-16-40 to beat Kevin McCormack 46-9-37.

Lewis also pipped McCormack for the putting on a count back. They both had a score of 14 putts. John Oakley was nearest the pin on the fifth and David Marshall fired the straightest drive on the ninth.

The Wednesday Ladies battled the wind for their game. There was a count back between Naida Belot and Sherryl Jones which went to Naida.

There was another count back for the putting (16) between these two which Sherryl won.

Ruth O’Connor made nearest the pin on the fifth, while Faye Latter scored the straightest drive on the third.

Wednesday’s nine-hole events kicked off last week after the summer break, and Tim Quinlan enjoyed the rest to practice his putting as he easily won with 22 stableford points.

Tim beat Laurie Jackel and Trevor English, both on 18. While Spencer Broom and Kevin McCormick won the nearest the pins. This Wednesday hit off from 8.30am, playing off the short course.

Rochester had their first win on Sunday in the GMGA summer four ball, Frank Severino and Steve Malley combined well to win 2-1, while the teams of Steven Bubb and Darren White, Peter Lawford and Richard Feuk lost.

The big hitting team of Jake Wright and Jason Cartlidge had a good 4-3 win, while Lee Hicks and son in law Chris White won 3-2.

Next week is the last game for this season. A reminder that subs are now due.
