Man dead in house

POLICE will prepare a report for the coroner after a death in Rochester on February 14.

Emergency crews were called to an address on Hopetoun Street shortly after 5pm, locating a man in his 40s who was deceased.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Four tankers fight hay shed blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a hay shed fire in Burramboot on Wednesday morning.

There were four tankers on the scene from Corop, Corop West, Stanhope and Colbinabbin.

Operations officer from District 20 John Cutting said 2,100 lucerne bales were destroyed along with the shed.

There was a community warning out due to the smoke in the area and the fire was left to burn out.

‘Junk’ trailer stolen

THE trailer that shows the banner for the Junk Art Festival was stolen on Thursday night.

It is believed the trailer, which had a padlock on it, was stolen between 6pm and 7pm near the Heathcote-Rochester Rd and Midland Hwy corner.

The padlock looks to have been cut by bolt cutters.

Police have been notified and investigations are occurring.
