THE Rochester Mural Festival is now in its fourth year, bringing artists and visitors from all corners of Australia and overseas.
Only eight artists are selected each year to paint their interpretation of the theme, which this year is Nature, her beauty and bounty.
The festival runs over seven days and has proved popular with the artists and the many visitors who call in during the week and others who stop and admire the finished work throughout the year.
The festival attracts a strong, talented field of artists from across Australia to compete.
Both the completed mini murals and full-sized murals are for sale.
The winner receives an acquisitive award (the painting is purchased) and this work will be displayed permanently in the Mural Park’s ‘‘Avenue of Honour’’.
Locals and tourists are invited to visit the festival, peruse the murals and take a look around town.
A donation box is located on the voting tree if you would like to give a donation to assist with the running of the next festival.
There will be an auction of a painting of the red bridge and a glass ornament (pictured left) at the Friday dinner from 6.30pm at the RRRR’s.
■The mural festival begins on Saturday and finishes the following Saturday, March 3.
