KERRY Nicholson is returning for his fourth mural festival, making the trek from Queensland.
‘‘I haven’t missed one yet,’’ he said.
‘‘I’m really competitive and I love competing with other artists.’’
Mr Nicholson said it was exciting to begin work.
‘‘This is the good bit — to actually paint,’’ he said.
‘‘I am really looking forward to hanging around the other artists and meeting people walking past.’’
Kerry has been part of mural festivals in Jamestown, Nanango and in New Zealand.
‘‘Everywhere I go I meet a lot of people and everyone is really nice,’’ he said.
His mural this year is pure Aussie.
He described it as a landscape sunset with waterfalls into the river.
‘‘There will be various animals and birds and I’ll be painting my grand-daughter,’’ he said.
‘‘She will be holding water for a kangaroo to drink.’’
The mural will also showcase Australia’s various flowers.
‘‘I didn’t even know all the flowers that represent each state and territory — imagine what others will think,’’ he said.
