DUE to a persistent dampness pervading the region (and spirits) pennant and CVBD State Mixed Pairs were cancelled.

Everyone seems to have taken up, temporarily we hope, the sport of tracking the weather and comparing rainfalls.

Ladies social bowls on Tuesday, November 26 were won by Jane McCallum, Elaine Hall, Beryl Elliott and Shirley Williams. The raffle was won by Norma Scott.

Ladies social bowls starts at 10am today.

Rochester is sending two teams to Calival Christmas Fours.

Janis Tamburini’s Team won the Kit’s Kafe Award for the game on November 17.

Reminders: Ladies 21 Up round three to be played by December 24.

100 Up round three by December 17. And Open Championship round four by December 14.

Last Thursday night pennant was exceptional, the greens stay uniform, unaffected by the onset of evening cool, so there were some very close games and great bowls played.

John Boyd and Rod McAsey triumphed in the end.

The series will be running for another two weeks barring unforseen circumstances.

The draws for men’s pairs, 21Up and 100Up are in the foyer.
