Members of the Rochester Little Athletics Club were jumping for joy when they were presented with a cheque for $6600.

ROCHESTER Little Athletics has received a $6,600 grant from Holden as part of the Holden Home Ground Advantage Program.

The money will go towards new equipment for the club.

Local Holden Dealer Bruce Hocking said supporting grassroot clubs like Little Athletics was why the program was created.

‘‘Local sporting clubs play a really important role within communities and we are thrilled to help invest in their futures,’’ he said.

‘‘It is very nice that the aths program got the grant.

‘‘We’re proud of what has been achieved since the program began in 2014 and we look forward to helping others in our community turn their dreams into possibilities.

‘‘Holden are passionate about sport and how it brings communities together, so they are funding projects to improve club facilities, purchase equipment and uniforms, which all plays a part in developing exceptional talent.’’

There is $250,000 available each summer and winter in the Home Ground Advantage Program and all clubs are encouraged to apply.

Applications for the 2017/18 summer round are open from November 1 to March 31.
