THE Nanneella Playgroup was lucky enough to have Bunnings Echuca donate their time and supplies recently to help paint the interior of ‘The Shed’.
‘The Shed’ is part of the Nanneella Recreation Reserve where the playgroup has been run for over 20 years by parents, focusing on children aged zero to six from all surrounding communities.
The group has recently been working on several projects to spruce up the facility and encourages new members to come along. There is a vegetable garden donated by Jimmy Godden’s designer tanks, painted mushrooms and log seats created by the Nichol Trading Family and a new split-system air-conditioner put in thanks to the Nanneella Hall Committee.
Playgroup is held on Mondays from 10am to 12pm and the group is looking for more families to join.
Playgroup president Shannyn Nichol says she travels from Rochester for playgroup.
‘‘There is a group in Rochester, but they only take a set number of kids every year,’’ she said.
‘‘So I bring my kids here.
‘‘It’s a great family atmosphere and we just really want some more families to come in and enjoy the small town, where everyone knows everyone.’’
The group is looking to be open over the school holidays as well, from 10am to 12pm every Wednesday.
