A PUBLIC meeting this week will seek community input on a review of the Lower Campaspe Valley Water Supply Protection Area (WSPA) groundwater management plan.

The Lower Campaspe Valley WSPA extends between Lake Eppalock in the south and the Murray River in the north.

There are more than 130 Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) groundwater licence holders in this area.

GMW general manager customer operations Scott Barber said the plan was approved by the water minister in October 2012.

“The aim of the plan is to make sure groundwater resources are managed in an equitable manner to ensure the long-term sustainability of those resources,” he said.

The meeting is on from 1pm on Friday, October 27 at the Campaspe Golf Club, Northern Hwy, Rochester.

If you cannot attend the meeting and would like to discuss the review of the plan please call Brendan Cossens at GMW on (03) 54753907.
