ROCHESTER Tigers Junior Basketball competed in its first tournament last weekend, sending six teams across to Echuca in different age groups and genders.

The Rochester Basketball Association committee were delighted at being able to field so many sides in the tournament, as its aims to provide top quality basketball in the area.

The Tigers under 18 girls team was the only side to compete in A division.

The girls did not win a match during the tournament, but were competitive, only losing by small margins in each game.

The remaining five teams were fielded in the B division, with the under 18 boys claiming one win.

The under 16 girls won two of their matches while the under 16 boys produced the best result for the club, claiming three wins throughout the tournament.

The under 14 boys claimed two victories and while the under 12s were unable to manage a win throughout the torunament, they showed great improvement throughout the carnival.

The RBA would like to thank its sponsors for their support of the club and has congratulated their players on their efforts across the tournament.
