The ladies midweek pennant was cancelled again this week owing to the expected heat of 46 degrees.
A top decision as that was the case with the weather.
Weekend pennant was also cancelled.
Total confusion ruled as the pennant playing conditions were altered, in regards to ends played, starting times and to what temperature it has to be before games are called off.
In the end it was the match committee’s decision and they called all games off.
Maybe next week common sense may prevail.
Our crackerjack tournament is on today, starting at 5pm.
It is a mixed fours event.
Men who are playing are asked to bring a salad.
60 and over bowls was played at Rochester.
Play started at 10am and finished at 1pm.
The winners on the day were Hedley Moon, Kevin Hail, Kevin Dobson, Bill Ault.
The unlucky one is the teams captain Norm Christie, who once again offered to fill a gap in another side, only to see his own team win the chickens.
Hedley could not get to Norm quick enough to tell him they had won.
Hedley was the only bowler not to get a bowl in the yardstick.
He did not tell Norm that.
