Singer comes to town to preach the power of prayer

July 12, 2017

Karen Kepert will be in Rochester next week.

THE Salvation Army Rochester Home League will host Christian speaker, singer and songwriter Karen Kepert on Tuesday, July 18.

Kicking off at 10.30am, Karen, who is based in Melbourne, will be visiting the Rochester Corps to share her message through song of how she has dealt with major surgery and depression through faith.

‘‘I use my songs and testimony to reach out to those in physical or emotional pain,’’ Karen said.

‘‘I encourage others to reach out to their local community and to follow God’s calling, wherever He may lead.’’

Home League secretary Sally Bogie said her story of recovery ‘‘really impressed’’ her.

‘‘As well as receiving medical treatment, her friends covered her with prayer every day,’’ she said.

‘‘Karen loves to pass on the message that prayer is so important every day.

‘‘It is amazing what prayer can do in all situations.’’

Karen regularly visits churches around Victoria and her story and songs have been well received by all who hear them.

She has released two CDs, which will be available for purchase after the service, and the ladies of the Home League will be holding a trading table of various goods available for purchase.

Following the service there will also be a light lunch provided.

All are welcome, and entry to the concert is $10.
