SARAH Ingram flew the flag for Rochester Netball Club in Saturday’s thrilling interleague clash at Wodonga.
Ingram played in the winning under 17 representative side for the Goulburn Valley League who stole the match from Ovens and Murray by a goal in extra time, 56-55.
Scores were level at 44 apiece at the end of the fourth quarter, forcing the game into overtime to separate the teams.
GV had their noses in front by a goal at half-time of time on, 51-50, and held their nerves in the remaining seven minutes to keep the lead.
But it should have been an easier win for the team after squandering a six-goal buffer at three quarter time (36-30) to let Ovens and Murray back in the game.
Some costly skill errors on the Goulburn Valley’s behalf gave the host-side the opportunity it needed to claw back the lead.
It was a even contest all day though with GV up by just two goals at half time (22-20).
Ingram took on her usual role of goal attack in the 12-person squad and found plenty of space under the ring and provided plenty of strong drives in bring the ball in to the attacking end.
